It’s still unclear when and if the Conservatives will table controversial legislation to “modernize” Canada’s Copyright Act, but it could turn into a national election issue in at least one-third of the federal ridings if the government doesn’t strike the right balance once they do introduce a bill, says one of the country’s leading copyright experts.
